Washington County's abuse survivor resources are expanding

U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici visited the Family Justice Center in Beaverton to hear about its resources and new project.

The Family Justice Center of Washington County hosted U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici on Wednesday, July 6, to discuss its resources for survivors of abuse.

Executive director Rachel Schutz said the Family Justice Center in Beaverton is a collaboration of organizations working to provide resources for survivors, whether that includes legal support, counseling and advocacy, housing, childcare or other needs

Leaders from CARES Northwest, the Sexual Assault Resource Center and the Domestic Violence Resource Center were also at the meeting to share their vision for a new collaborative center.

Services at the Family Justice Center of Washington County include a child care room, where family support worker Esthefania tends to children while their parents are meeting with advocates for survivors of domestic violence
